First flight of the decade. A bracing -11°F morning in Valley, NE with Matthew Grote and Jester Unwindz.

Matthew, Austin, and Rich readying our chilly chariot. I flew the first leg
with Matthew, then changed places with Austin for the balance of the flight.

Into the dawn sky we go. Wind chill on the ground was -25. Brrrr!

Yes, that's a snow drift in the foreground, a remnant of the Christmas Blizzard of 2009.

Matthew guides Jester to a landing west of the Platte River, about 2 miles south of Leshara.

Matthew picked a great spot to land, right next to the road. He even missed the center pivot.

We didn't need the sled, Matthew just dragged Jester across the snow to the roadside.

Cold nylon doesn't compress very well; Rich, Matthew, and Austin trying to fit 90K of balloon into an 80K bag.
