We flew with Bernie and Vicki on this brisk morning in Valley, an anniversary gift from their daughter Kathy.
The crew steadies the basket, as Kathy and the grandsons look on.
As dawn breaks in the east, we add just a little more heat ...
... and up we go.
We follow Rich, at the helm of Euphoria Grande, as we lift into the morning sky.
Rich prepares to cross over the Elkhorn River, just across Highway 36 west of Elk City.
The crew spies Dreamtime low over the river as we stir up the wildlife.
The local deer population is not happy at our approach.
Passing east of Arlington, we find drier fields and begin looking for a place to land.
Ready to touch down in a harvested soybean field.
Setting up the celebration where we packed up the balloon.
We raise our glasses in toast to Bernie and Vicki. Happy Anniversary!
